Bensőséges ünnepség zajlott le 2010. január 18-án este Montrealban, a Foyer Hongrois-ban.
Dr Hiller István oktatási és kulturális miniszter a Magyar Kultúráért éremmel tűntette ki Blanár Andreát a kanadai magyar közösségben kifejtett kultúrális tevékenységéért. A kitűntetést dr.Vastagh Pál Magyarország kanadai nagykövete adta át. Az eseményről aznap este a Montreali CTV – a legnagyobb helyi angol és fancia nyelvű tv csatorna – is beszámolt.
Blanár Andrea "megrögzött alapító" családból származik. Édesapja, Tekker József 1956-ban alapítója volt a Kanadai-Magyar Mérnök Egyesület-nek, a KMME-nek. (Association des Ingenieurs Hongrois-Canadiens / Hungarian-Canadian Engineeres Association. A Kanadai-Magyar Mérnökök Montreali Csoportja, a Section Montreal Branch – tekintettel a viszonylagos földrajzi közelségre – szorosan együttműködik a Torontoi Csoport-tal.)
Ezt követően Tekker József megalapította a Magyar Bál-t, mely idén márciusban rendezi 52-ik bálját.
Blanár Andrea – követve apja példáját – 2002-ben létrehozta a Kanadai Magyar Művészek Közösségé-t. (Canadian-Hungarian Artists’ Collctive – CHAC / Regroupement des Artistes Canadiens Hongrois)
2005-ben megszervezte az első Tantramar Art Symposium-ot majd 2007-ben a másodikat. A két sikeres symposium nem csak a résztvevőknek jelentett óriás élményt, hanem a New Brunswick-i Sackville környék-bélieknek, Tantramárnak is, hiszen az esmény bekerült a tartomány turisztikai értesítőibe.
2009-ben Re: InSitu címmel a Kanadai Magyar Művészek Közössége Magyarországon állította ki tagjainak anyagát először Szentendrén majd Keszthelyen, s e kiállításnak az anyagát idén Kanadában is bemutatják..

A rendezők köszönetüket fjezik ki mindazoknak, aki a szervezésben résztvettek, Pekári Éva és munkatársai, a Montreáli Magyar Bizottság, a Kanadai Magyar Művészek Kollektívája, a St. Isván Bál és a Magor egyesület,Ciamarra Júlia köszöni, hogy a 3 napos előzetes meghívásra 80-an válaszoltak és meg is jelentek. és akik nem tudtak eljönni, gratuláló sorokat küldtek Andreának e-mailen.
külön köszönetünket fejezzük ki a CTV munkatársának Debra Arbec-nek, hogy a rövid idő ellenére is közölte az eseményeket.
Alant közöljük a Nagykövet úr ünnepi beszédét, amiben Andrea tevékenységét értékelte a magyar kultúra érdekében hosszú éveken át a montreali magyar közössében.

On the eve of the Day of the Hungarian Culture I warmly welcome you all. 22 January is the anniversary of the birth of the poem “Hymn” written by Ferenc Kölcsey in 1823. Though our greatest national composer, Ferenc Erkel composed music for it already in 1844, Hymn officially became the Hungarian national anthem only in 1903. Since that year all over the world Hungarians cite and sing it as the best expression of our relatedness. 22 January does not belong to our red-letter days but since 1989, around this date all Hungarian cultural institutions in and outside Hungary have a host of special events to remind us of and raise interest to our one-thousand year old traditions, roots, past, cultural heritage, material and spiritual values.
So this is the ideal date and absolutely worthy occasion to inform you that Dr István Hiller, the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Hungary, proposed by the Hungarian Embassy to Canada, awarded Pro Cultura Hungarica medal to Madame Andrea Blanár. This is one of the highest forms of appreciation to those who have significantly contributed to the development and promotion of Hungarian culture beyond the borders I have the great privilege of presenting this valuable award to Andrea among so many friends.
Dear Andrea,
We all, who are here tonight respect the outstanding and useful role you have been playing in the Hungarian community, not only here in Montreal but in all Canada and Hungary as well. We all appreciate your committed and enthusiastic work as the founder and president of the Canadian-Hungarian Artists’ Collective, organiser of the popular St Stephen ball, as the engine of the preparation of the commemorative exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian Revolution, your list of efforts and achievements is very long and well-known for everybody, we are grateful for it. Your unselfish work is the best example for the younger generation. My most important consideration regarding your activity is that you not only do your best to preserve our cultural heritage but you have enriched it, indeed. The excellently organised and very successful Re:In Situ exhibitions last summer in Hungary very clearly demonstrated the talent of the Canadian-Hungarian artists and the unity of Hungarian culture. You must have put hundreds of working hours only in this project for two years. Thank you very much for this as well.

This Pro Cultura Hungarica award is the acknowledgement of your personal artistic and community achievements but I firmly believe that it expresses the appreciation of the Hungarian government to all members of the Artists’ collective. We sincerely hope that the good cooperation will continue and this collective will have exhibitions in Hungary also in the future. On behalf of the Embassy I should like to congratulate to you on this high level appreciation and I wish you further successes in you artistic career, community work and leadership. Your talent, enthusiasm and energetic work are essential for all of us here in Canada and Hungary. |
